Inquiry & Analysis Post 1

The last time I had to make inferences and judgments based on quantitative data was for a research project for a class on data analysis. I used the General Social Servery to explore the relationship between one’s vocabulary and knowledge in general science. I was pretty confident in my analysis because I’ve had run many statistical analyses to establish the correlation. As it turned out, having more advanced vocabulary is significantly and positively associated with individuals’ scientific knowledge regardless of sex, age, and education level. I realized that being able to clean up and manage data and extract useful information that answers intriguing question give me a great sense of pleasure. And this is one of the reasons I’m hoping to minor in data analysis to make better use of data.
